Lloyds Banking Group sparked outrage today after it blamed Brexit ‘uncertainty’ for cutting 3,000 jobs and shutting 200 branches.
Britain’s largest retail bank, which is nine per cent owned by the taxpayer, has been accused of being ‘completely disingenuous’ by critics opposed it its cost cutting.
Some Twitters users have even used the hashtag #Brexcuses to slam the banking giant, whose half-year profits to the end of June more than doubled to £2.5billion.
